Jersey Shows Battle of the Bands Finals...
First band was Cultivate the Grave... too hardcore so got some BK.
Second band was Drive. They played an amazing song where the lead singer played the piano while singing some heart-wrenching lyrics. Amazing stuff, but too bad that their other songs sounded the same.
Third band was Basner. They had quite a few people with their shirts on. They were a rocking trio that i would definately like to see again.
Last band was the Superspecs. They are truly amazing. Ska/Punk/Rock/Funk... the Superspecs have it all. I really hope they won the whole thing because they truly deserve it.
About 48 more hours until i go to NYC to see the Get Up Kids!!! Oh yea... just can't wait for the chance to see my favorite band up close and personal again. Just 2 more days!!!

It's about 4:00 am in the morning. In about 9 hours, i'll be in Asbury Park watching the Superspecs perform at the finals of the Jersey Show Battle of the Bands! Man i hope they win. Well, my day on Saturday was one for the records... that is for the most boring day possible. I woke up at 2:30pm and used my cpu until 5 when i went to my cousin's house to celebrate their graduation. Well, i pretty much listened to my cd player, ate, and slept the whole 6 hours i was there. I got home and tried to fall asleep since i gotta wake up pretty early for this Superspecs show. I went to bed around 12:30, but was unable to sleep. So here i am right now eating my left-over Pizza Hut. I can't believe there's only 2 more days until the Get Up Kids Show in NYC!!!! I seriously cannot wait until Tuesday, and the adventure of walking the streets of New York Citiy makes it more exciting. Peazz out...
Mike Sweeney is a baseball God.

SPRING TRAINING: Day 3
We couldn't really get the game going, but once we did, madness broke loose. Here's da highlights...
Sean - ripped through the day with 7 big ones, and of course, his defense was fearless. Sean finally found his groove to take the top spot from Rob and Jeremy.
Jeremy - struggled in the beginning, but instead of going for technique... he went for pure power. Also, he took advantage of Petryszyn's 3 errors in the 4th where he tallied 4 HRs. Jeremy's defense was shocking, yet again. His timing and awareness of the area has proven him a top defender.
Rob - A very dissapointed day for the well known slugger. Rob had an off day with his batting, but many possible HRs were taken away from him because of the spectacular defensive show that was displayed. Rob's defense again was almost flawless, with only 2 errors that Jeremy covered up. Rob also covered up one of Jeremy's mistakes as they packed left field against Joe.
Playoff... Mike P... Joe D...
Both of them were tied with a sad 2 HRs. To break the tie, they both had to pitch to each other while facing the "Doom Team". After going through 2 scoreless innings, Petryszyn ripped one that laced right between Rob and Jeremy as he ended up victorious in the "loser" playoff.

"Everyone's going to the party,

I'd be so pleased to see you
out of the classroom wearing the smile that I'll bring you.
I was hoping to learn a few things like...
If you like taking a cup of coffee in the evening.
These are a few things that I'd like to know
that I'd like to know"
So I said...
"I've been scheduled to work but I'll call in
and my friend isn't busy
he'd be happy to join me
and maybe my friend
and your friend
will hit it off or maybe we will?"
I'm dying to know
do you do you like dreaming of things

or ever the wild or waiting through all your bad bad days
just to end them with

SPRING TRAINGING: Day 2
7:30... first night time game
Highlights:
Robert - had a blast tonight leading the way with 6 Hrs. He remained consistent with 4 HRs in the first 2 innings and 2 in the last two innings. He made a few errors in the beginning but made it up with his spectacular leaps and quick hands. Rob had a close collision with Vivenzio as Jeremy hit a high fly into the gap. Mike jumped early and missed the ball completely, but Rob covered his back as he leaped into the air off the diving board and tapped the ball away from the HR Zone.
Sean - Again a very strong performance from the oldest player in the league. Sean hit 5 HRs, but fatigue caught up with him. Sean had communication problems with Jeremy which was the result for half of Robert's HRs. As a batter, Sean couldn't handle Vivenzio's "Nomo" pitches, but had no trouble hitting Mike's floaters.
Jeremy - An off day for Jeremy, especially with Vivenzio in the right field where most of his hits end up. Jeremy did hit the farthest HR tonight, but struggled against Sean's tough pitches. Jeremy's defense was still very solid. In one play, Rob hit a sky high bomb to Sean. He leaped into the air and smacked the ball to the other end of the pool. Crazy Jeremy thought that he still had a chance to catch the ball and jumped into the pool with his hands in the air, ready to accept the ball between his arms. Afterwards, everyone laughed at his foolish attempt.
Joey D. - Tied with Jermz in HRs. His defense improved by showing everyone that he's not only "a goofy, tall kid". Joe's left handed batting position is at his disadvantage since it's much harder to get past a fielder with a lot of fielding room. Even though Joe's beginning to hit the ball well and hard, he's going to have to learn to pull the ball to really have a chance with the other sluggers.
Mike - The rookie, again, ended up last with a sad 2 HRs. Many of his hits didn't even make it out of the shallow end, which resulted in ridicule and mocking gestures towards him. Mike proved, again, to be an erratic fielder. Half of the time, he'll let the ball slip right throught his hands or misplay the ball causing himself to look extremely foolish. The other half of the time he'll make stunning plays that leaves everyone staring with awe. The best play tonight was when Mike got lazy and stayed in the pool while slugger Jeremy was at the plate. Unfortunately for Jeremy, he hit the ball on the side roof, and the ball found its way right into Mike's hands while staying afloat in the corner of the pool.

Mike Vivenzio - "This is the funniest movie ever."
Robert Eng - "Why is it so funny?"
Mike Vivenzio - "There's a hairy troll that pisses on a horse and then the horse dies."
Robert Eng - "Oh man, that IS funny. Let's see it."
(watches movie... troll pissing in lake, not on horse)
Mike Vivenzio - "Oh well, it's still funny."
Joe Dipalma - "Ughhh... he's taking a doo doo, pee pee"
SPRING TRAINING FOR POOL BALL!!!!!
Started playing around 6:30pm. First time playing the ultimate game since last summer, but we didn't lose our touch!
Highlights:
Jeremy - topped everyone in runs scored and was a very strong defensive player. He is a definate starter to put into your Fantasy Poolball League. *Spectacular Play* The ball was hit to Jeremy hard, and jeremy bobbled the ball over his head. He accidentally hit the ball over the deck, but he didn't lose his composure. By his fingertips, he held the ball over the deck while on his tippy-toes. This play made the batter, Petryszyn, extremely pissed as he was robbed of an upper deck HR.
Sean - second in runs scored and a great energizer for the defense. He jumps after everyball and intimidates his opponents with his primal rage. *Spectacular Play* Jeremy hit a far, high one into the gap of Sean and Vivenzio. Sean jumped too early and was in the pool as the ball made its way down to the ground. Amazingly, Mike tipped the ball off of the deck and the ball found its way to Sean who just reached the surface of the pool to catch his breath. He quickly smacked the ball away where Robert found the ball between his arms while yelling "Two Outs!"
Robert - Third in runs scored with 3 upper deck HRs. Rob has amazing hang time when he jumps off the diving board, and made zero errors in the field. Rob is streaky at the plate, with 5 quick HRs in the first two innings, but only 1 HR in the last 3. *Spectacular Play* Vivenzio hit a line drive right at Rob as he stood behind the HR ladder. With one hand on the ladder to keep his balance, Rob had no choice but to hit the ball to prevent the HR. He used the back of his right hand to knock the ball away right to the pitcher, Petryszyn. Another two outs for Vivenzio the Rookie.
Joe Dipalma - Fourth in runs scored. Struggled in the beginning, but once he found his form, he hit 4 HRs in one inning! Joe struggled in defense with his poor timing on the diving board and his lack of communication with the other fielders, but that will improve with time. As a pitcher, Joe can single-handily shut down the batter with his excellent height and arm length.
Mike Vivenzio - The Rookie of the game had a mere 3 runs scored, but not too bad for playing with the pros. Mike struck out a couple times and his HRs were border line HRs. His defense was shaky, but in his case, an error could be made up with a Web Gem. *Spectacular Play* Jeremy hit a bomb to deep left field with Vivenzio on the diving board. He saw the ball soaring over his head and quickly left the diving board and onto the grass. With his hands in the air, he made a great "over the shoulder" catch that left Jeremy stunned and angry of this robbery.
Mike Petryszyn - dead last place with a pathetic 2 Hrs. Not all of this was his fault, becasue he had to face the "Doom Team" (Sean, Rob, and Jeremy) on defense. With the trio in the field, Dipalma pitched 3 scoreless innings, until Mike broke lose with 2 bullets in the 4th. His defense is questionable, but his baseball experience still makes him a dangerous fielder.

Last day of school... Kick ass jamming with George. We played songs from "Out of Reach" to "Radio" to some originals such as "Last Song" and "No Matter". Fun stuff at a boring school on a boring day. Afterwards me,jermz, mark, and mikey played some good cards on the timpini. I don't know the name of the card game we played, but all i know it was fun making sure that mikey didn't win a game. We bounced and ate at wendy's. Afterwards played some b-ball, which took a lot out of us since it was madd hot. Extreme heat waves building up, the only solution is swimming! Still no beach ball... if u know where to find one please contact me about it. We made up just by playing freezetag(another kick ass game) Sean was "it" and me and odie(OMO) came close to winning, but the power of Sean was just too powerful. Then i went home and ate some KFC. Now i'm worn out and watching some television. Shower time and sleep time...

Yesterday... Dashboard Confessional on MTV2. Nothing too special. It was cool to see them on television and all... but it was uncool for him not to play "Bitter Pill". It wasn't really unplugged since that's how his band normally sounds... and that set was nothing compared to seeing him live... u gotta check that out.
Finals today... USII History was mad easy and i'll be upset if i get anything lower than a 95. There were 151 questions on the test, and D-man makes it so we can get around 20 questions wrong and still get a 100. So that's pretty phat. Advanced Math IV Finals = Impossible. Throughout the whole school year, i always got my average to be in the 88 area... but whenever there are one of these big ass tests... i bomb. Oh well, one more final to go... Ignore and leave for me

I can't help my laughter as she cries.
My soul brings tears to angelic eyes.
Let's amend the classic story,
close it so beautifully,
I'll let animosity unwind.
Steal away the darkened pages,

I'll still feel the violence of the lines.
I can't stand my laughter as they cry.

And miles away my mother cries.

Here's Part II...
As soon as i arrived home i locked my room door, and tried to get some sleep. During the night i heard some tapping on my window and ignored it thinking it was just some tree branch hitting it. Later the taps got worse and louder than before so i got up and checked it out. As i pulled the shade up that same light, that my friend and i saw before, came forth and my body became paralyzed! I saw a shadow of an object above me. All of a sudden i began levitating. I tried moving but i was paralyzed with my eyes wide open. As the light kept getting brighter and brighter, my head began getting dizzy and all of a sudden i woke up. I had to ask my friend the next day if he had the same dream.
When i arrived at school the next day, Tom was not present. I was wondering if anything could have happened to him since last night's incident. When school was over, i went to his house to see what was wrong with him. When i got there, i found his mother and noticed that she was very worried. I asked her what was the matter, adn she told me that Tom had not arrived home last night. That's when i knew there was something major that was going on. I told Tom's mom that i was going to see if i could find him, and went around town trying to see if there was any sign of him...
To find out where Tom is, and to see what Roger will do... check back later!

Here's the intro of a story written by Roger Bermudez...
It was a calm and unsuspecting night in the quet town of Lyndhurst. The clock had just struck 12AM, and my friend and i were coming back from a party. My friend, Tom, was a very wacky kid and liked to make lots of noises. He also liked to fight other people for fun and would just go psycho sometimes. I, on the other hand, was more the calmer one who didn't like to disturb the peace. IN other words, you can just asy that Tom and I were the exact opposite.
As we were walking, I heard CRASH! I thought that my friend did this to wake up people. I asked Tom if he had done it and Tom said he hadn't. I believed him, because i knew he couldn't imitate a crash sound well. As we both continued walking, a dog that came out of no where began barking from the opposite direction we were headed. Tom asked me, "Yo Roger, what you think the mutt's barking at?" I answered, "Guess we'll have to chech, huh?" When we turned around we saw a bright light flashing that almost blinded us. We were terrified at the thought of what might have caused this bright light so we began running. When we were getting near to where we lived, we split and went our separate ways...
To find out what Roger has in store for us, check in a little bit later...

2:00-watched "The Rock"
6:30-played some basketball
9:00-watched the net game

Phew... 114:47 of hockey time... 318 minutes of hockey/commericials/intermissions... final score... Hurricanes 2 - Redwings 3. Definately the second greatest Stanley Cup Finals game i've ever watched. Of course, the number 1 game was, Game 7 @ Madison Square Garden. New York Rangers against the Vancouver Canucks. The crowd chanting the curse of "1940!" It's been 54 years, and the Rangers did it! Yea... nostalgia's kicking in now.
Today was kind of a day for the upsets, besides the Redwings winning in overtime. I watched that horse race to see if War Emblem could win the Triple Crown which haven't been accomplished for the last 24 years. Before the race started, i said if i gambled on this game, i would put $100 on the horse who would be the least likely to win. And guess what... that horse was the winner of the race! The odds for that horse were 70-1... which means i could be $6900 richer if i gambled.
The next upset... tennis! Serena Williams, the younger of the two, upsetted Venus Williams in the championship game. WHen the two play against each other, Venus has a 5-2 record against her sister, but not today! Serana won and shocked the world.
Next... Lewis baby! My mind was locked with the hockey game, so unfortunately i didn't watch the fight... but i was extremely please with the outcome... Lewis beat Tyson. Kind of an upset, but not a huge one.
World Cup Soccer! Can you believe that Croatia beat Italy today!! I can remember years ago, when it was Brazil and Italy in the World Cup Finals. They ended up going to a shootout, and my fav playa (Roberto Baggio) missed his penalty kick to send Italy off to the loser's column. Depressing...yes. Even more depressing... Italy lost to Croatia!
Well, this entry is pretty much all about sports... but this is a perfect sports weekend... with the big fight, hockey and basketball finals, tennis chamionships, world cup soccer, interleague baseball, and triple crown horseracing. Even though it looks as though i am obsessed with sports... it doesn't even come close to my obsession and love for music. If you have a conversation with me and i don't say a word about music, then i'm either sleeping, or terribly ill.

Two things happened today:
Platt got pissed today and took his mighty anger out on the drums and chairs. The gigantic Brian Lukeman comes along to suggest the calming down of Platt. Platt didn't like Lukeman in his space, and therefore pushes Lukeman away from him. Lukeman, in shock that Platt was so pissed that he pushed him away, picked Platt up and slammed him down while pinning his body underneath his own. Platt, unable to move with a huge weight on top of him, does the only thing he can do at this moment... he spits into Lukeman's face. Right after this, Mr. Dellosa furiously separated the two and Platt went running away with tears running down his face. Maybe he'll finally learn to quit being such an annoyance in band.
Next, elections for student council. Wow, what a big to do, yet it's so important. Hoda! Hoda! Hoda! Her speech was very moving. In the speech she promised to try and work out the dress code, walkman, and final exam attendance problems we have in the school. I just laughed at her attempt for this, because i knew very well she would be the last person i would believe if someone told me they would make a difference in the school. Anyway, another all-girl counsil, Justyna, ostag, tandis, alana, and sara. Not the best lineup, but i can't complain.

Aftermath of band dinner... better than i expected. It started slowly as all these people started making speeches and so forth, but it's all good becuz the food was kickin. After that... the dance-floor was flooded with over-sized people who do not know how to dance. Now i know that i shouldn't be making any negative remarks to others, since i happen to be the world's worst dancer, but i have to say that the people in band are a very close second place to me. Me and Petryszyn kept leaving the room to check on the Yankee-Oriole game, in which the yankees lost.
Well, it started slow, but then it started speedin up. Sica and Lukeman got the ball rolling with some booty-dancin. After a while, a there was a girl to boy sing-a-long to "summer loving", which i knew absolutely no words to. But when we danced to YMCA, that made up for everything. I have to say that the dinner was pretty cool, but i really hate the people in my class from band... it's gonna be torture next year without the seniors.
"Coming Clean"
i found my place in the sun,
lied my way there.
i've looked in youre eyes,
i'm coming clean.
i've made up my mind.
to lie would be to compromise and i won't try.
i'm sorry.
i hope you'll forgive me
but what you want from me is killing me

Aight, i'm typing this before school because i woke up early this morning. Yesterday was packed with fun and non-fun activities.
Fun=calling everyone in band to make sure they bring in $2 to dellosa dawg.
Non-fun=Sitting and listening to coaches talk for 4 hours at the winter/spring varsity brunch.
Fun=watching the sports games that were on.
Non-fun=Yankees lost, Mets lost, Kings lost.
Oh well, off i go to school with a lyric in my head:
We're betting on our own lives
making up for all the time we lost.
In this house of cards we're all holding hearts and spades
but you lead with your eyes and you give it away.

K, i think i'm getting the hang of this... Let's see, i have this blogspot because i am copying all my previous friends who did this. Plus, this is really fun. I'm in a band, P-ES, and we performed at the Bergen Tech botb on friday, and we received many good reviews. Early today, i took the SAT's for the first time. All i gotta say about that is... errr.
Me, Jermz, and Dipalma made this crazy ass funny video today. It all started when we were watching the footage of the movie we're shooting, "The Fitch". After we finished watching all of that, jeremy just started recording me and joe fighting. All of a sudden, joe put on his dancing shoes and started busting out his moves to "Hash Pipe". There are not enough words to describe how funny the scene was... but we have it all on tape.
Tomorrow morning there's some type of varsity brunch for all winter sports. This event is very lame, but free food always tastes better. Then on Monday, i got some kind of high school band dinner to go to. Again, the only good thing about this is the free food. I could think of one hundred thousand things i would rather do than sit and listen to techno music for 4 hours straight. Well... that's the post for tonight...
